Migathon was a 48-hour online hackathon where the Syrian and Turkish entrepreneurs teamed up to find technological start-up ideas to create either internationally marketable goods and services or goods and services that add value to Turkey’s internal market. The online event was held in 8th-10th January 2021 via Zoom.

Migathon, served the purposes of awareness-raising, socio-economic integration, and policy support.

The Marathon was designed as an online Hackathon that focuses on Migration Entrepreneurship, and that aims to bridge Turkish and Syrian entrepreneurs residing in ENHANCER’s target provinces of İstanbul, Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Adana, Mersin, Bursa, İzmir, Ankara, Konya, Kayseri, and Hatay.

50 entrepreneurs (27 SuTP, 1 Syrian national with a residence permit, and 22 Turkish citizens) participated in the Migathon of 2021.

Migathon was open for Syrian and Turkish potential and active entrepreneurs, university students and graduates, and women who wished to engage in entrepreneurial activities and stakeholders that generate national or international values.

In this Minimum Viable Product workshop, entrepreneurs will study problem determination and creative solution design which are the most critical issue of entrepreneurship. They will then try to define MVP, the viable output state of an idea in its most basic form before it becomes a product.

In the Impact Analysis Workshop, the effects of an entrepreneurial idea on issues such as the market, society, and environment will be studied in depth.
